Activities in Canada: Horseback riding

Lovers of equestrian sports have a wide choice of ranches all over Canada. You will be able to find a lot of guided tours where they take in account your level of skills. There is of course also the possibility to rent a horse and travel on you own.

In the Midwest you can find Farm Stays. This accommodation provides you with a horse and offers tours. Most Farm Stays are located near national Parks.
A great example is in the Rockies where you start from Banff, and follow Bow River and Sulphur Mountain.
If you want to experience some Wild West fun, you might want to think about visiting Calgary Stampede. Calgary Stampede is a festival that takes place in Calgary in the month of July. This is a rodeo festival with lots of shows, concerts and exhibitions.
